A Year of Changes for Andrew Anderson & Sons Funeral Directors

It has been one Calendar year since my Grandfather has retired and we have taken over Andrew Anderson & Sons Funeral Directors.

The Funeral Parlour on Glenartney Road, Callander has been fully redeveloped thanks to local trades men in Callander; Kings Joiners and Manufacturers , Ledi Plumbing, Gus Macdonald Electrician and Steven Mitchell Painter and Decorator. We are delighted with the quality and finish of the funeral parlour.

Chloe McIntyre fund, (Yorkhill Hospital) Golf Day.

Andrew Anderson & Sons, Funeral Directors Callander, are holding a Charity Day on Saturday 23rd May 2015 to raise funds for the Chloe McIntyre Fund within Yorkhill Children’s Charity in memory of Chloe McIntyre.

The aim of the fund is to build a sensory room and roof top garden within the new Yorkhill Hospital. The rooms will be named after Chloe and will be opened summer this year. The fund is currently at £54,000 which is just amazing!

Chloe was born with a heart condition called Truncas Arteriosis and she spent majority of her life in Yorkhill Hospital and in particular in the Cardiac Ward 5a and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She underwent successful open heart surgery at 4 weeks old but due to certain complications was placed on an ECMO (life support) machine after the surgery and sadly passed away at six weeks and two days old. There is so many children in Yorkhill fighting for their life’s so raising money helps these children have a better time in hospital.

We currently have availability for team of 4 which is priced at £140 per team (£35pp) and that includes Tea/Coffee & bacon Roll, 18 holes of Texas Scramble golf, 2 course meal in the Clubhouse, raffle & prize-giving.  To enter a team and support the Chloe McIntyre Fund within Yorkhill Hospital please call Callander Golf Club – 01877 330975.

Eco green funerals

Eco green funerals

For an eco green funeral you have the option of a woodlands burial. The local woodlands cemetery in Stirling council is in Killearn.

What is a woodland burial?

A woodland burial is the ideal choice for those seeking somewhere more natural and beautiful to hold a funeral and remember a loved one.

A woodland burial ground provides a natural alternative to a traditional cemetery.

Instead of a traditional headstone, graves are marked by the planting of a memorial tree. There is a focus on preserving the natural beauty of the woodland environment and encouraging native wildlife and flowers.
